The Operations Cycle in any type of organization is the recurring sequence of processes, work entities or tasks needed to accomplish a specific objective.
In Business the Operating Cycle is the set of processes and activities which should be executed to produce and satisfy with quality, productivity and profitability the products and services required by clients.
To perform efficiently an operating cycle, it is required to define the sequence of work entities in the operating cycle and the corresponding information entities generated and received between work entities. The information feedback between work entities is crucial to validate the efficiency and importance of the tasks and information entities within the operations cycle workflow.

The Operating Cycle in any type of organization is also the “vehicle” through which the main or strategic objectives are accomplished. A precise design of the Operating Cycle determines the assignment of roles and responsabilities among participants to facilitate the accomplishment of their jobs.

The use of the WORKFLOU methodology and software will facilitate the modeling and understanding of the operating cycles. Each work entity executed in the main cycle can be subdivided into additional sub-cycles to have a greater level of detail of the work and information required.
